From the grocery aisle to the TV department. That would be Instacart’s move to partner with Best Buy for same day delivery of the electronics retailer’s e-commerce orders.
Instacart has the largest market share in grocery delivery, so this represents a way to expand and leverage their delivery resources. Not that delivering a 75 inch smart TV is the same as a bag of groceries. But consumers want convenience and immediacy, and this new service for electronics products aims to deliver.
The following excerpt from a StreetInsider article reports more on the topic:
Instacart, the North American leader in online grocery delivery, today announced a new nationwide partnership with Best Buy to offer same-day delivery from nearly all Best Buy locations across the U.S. This means customers nationwide now have access to a selection of Best Buy’s electronics and tech products delivered same-day, including laptops, TVs, home office essentials, headphones, tablets, gaming, smartwatches, streaming media players, small appliances and more.
“This year we’ve expanded our offering with new and existing partners in order to provide even more selection and value to customers. As people settle into remote work and distance learning routines, we’ve seen increased demand for the same-day delivery of electronics on our marketplace,” said Chris Rogers, Vice President of Retail at Instacart.
“We’re proud to partner with Best Buy – the largest consumer electronics retailer in the U.S. – to offer customers across the country a new way to get the technology products they need delivered same-day. Whether it’s a new computer monitor for a home office, a smartwatch to track activity or a new slow cooker for the kitchen, we want to provide more ways for people to get the goods they need as quickly and safely as possible.”
