A company statement released this week from First Data announces the launch of Global Gateway e4, a redesigned and upgraded payment gateway solution for e-commerce merchants. The emphasis with the redesign has been on usability, ease of integration, and expansion of geographical support, among other features. The product backgrounder indicates the availability of a web service API for developers seeking integration for merchant or third-party payment applications.

From the Press Release:

With more and more consumers shopping online and consumer emphasis moving to multi-channel purchasing environment, merchants need simple solutions allowing them to serve their customers across several channels and with the payment tools that fit their business. The First Data Global Gateway e4 gives merchants a broader set of processing capabilities, a more intuitive user-interface, greater reporting capabilities and simplified integration, documentation and processes to make them more competitive in today’s marketplace.

“Based on extensive feedback from merchants, First Data is excited to launch the new Global Gateway e4, which delivers a comprehensive suite of payment services and is designed to enable easy integration from any website or mobile channel,” said Phil Levy, vice president, eCommerce, First Data. “As a leading eCommerce solutions provider, this new gateway is a continuation of our strategy to provide merchants with an expanding set of online payments capabilities including multicurrency processing, TransArmor tokenization, virtual gift cards, integrated fraud tools and flexible recurring billing services. With Global Gateway e4, merchants have everything they need to easily add new payment types to their website as they expand into new markets around the world.”

No matter whether a merchant is just starting a new business, looking for a more PCI-compliant website solution or planning to seamlessly integrate payment processing into their existing website, the Global Gateway e4 offers three interface options that fit merchants’ individual business requirements, so they can accept a wide range of payment types anytime, anywhere.
