January 04, 2016 – Stephanie El Rhomri, Vice President of Technology at FIME, has been elected to the Board of GlobalPlatform, the industry body which standardizes the management of applications on secure chip technology.
Stephanie will serve at least two years on the Board, which oversees the association’s future priorities, strategy and operational management. This group also provides final approval of the organization’s key outputs, such as specification changes, and controls its budgets. Over recent years, GlobalPlatform has established secure element (SE) and trusted execution environment (TEE) functional compliance testing programs, and its recently launched TEE Security Certification Scheme will be a key priority in 2016.
“It is vital that industry bodies such as GlobalPlatform provide, manage and evolve testing frameworks to ensure that there is an independent validation process that simplifies the evaluation of SE and TEE products. This promotes market stability and helps to create trust as new solutions come to market,” comments Stephanie. “With FIME’s global reach, local market knowledge and advanced secure component expertise, I look forward to sharing market insights that will drive industry engagement in these schemes.”
Stephanie also heads up the association’s Device Compliance Working Group. In addition to her commitment to GlobalPlatform, she represents FIME on the EMVCo Board of Advisors, following its selection to represent the Technical Associates for a one year term.
