One major addition to Apple’s new version of iOS, iOS 6, is Passbook, an app designed to manage storage of mobile loyalty cards, coupons, tickets (including boarding passes and movie tickets), and more. To help businesses better utilize Passbook, Tello has launched PassTools, a service that develops passes for merchants.
Once it’s in its final state, the service will consist of four major tools: a pass builder for designing passes (these are delivered by email), a template builder for businesses that want to create a high volume of personalized passes, as well as a dashboard for analytics and an API for managing passes. For the time being, however, Tello is only launching the pass builder. The other tools will launch in the coming weeks.
With the pass builder tool, the merchant needs only to complete a few forms and Tello handles the rest of the development process. Small businesses can easily create passes without requiring extensive knowledge of the PassBook API.
Pricing starts at $99 per month for up to 1,000 passes.
