Merchant Warehouse, a merchant acquiring company, has struck a deal with PayPal to enable merchants to accept PayPal with Merchant Warehouse’s Genius Customer Engagement Platform.
For businesses and consumers, PayPal’s integration into Genius provides a faster, simpler and easier payment solution. Businesses with Genius-enabled POS systems can activate PayPal acceptance, enabling direct integration into the PayPal app. Customers will be able to use the app to “check-in” to let businesses know they are ready to pay with PayPal, enabling a seamless payment experience for consumers.
The move will give both merchants and shoppers a broader set of payments choices. This offers another method for making a mobile payment that does not require NFC or barcodes. It shows that payments are increasingly being separated from the traditional form factors that have dominated at the point of sale for decades.
